Update June 2021: We are proud to announce our new and improved modified steel retainers. These retainers have the weight of titanium but the strength of our traditional steel; the new design weighs in at only 8 grams vs 11 grams on the old design. On a 3800 you're saving 36 grams of valvetrain weight with our new design! These modified retainers are recommended for anyone swapping to a heavier than stock valve spring. New style pictured in the product photos.
This is an "LS" style valve spring retainer, when you install it, it will allow you to run an "LS" style valve spring. It changes the top diameter and the install height from stock. You can reuse your stock valve locks or run the Comp Cams Valve Locks. This allows us to run the more popular "LS" style beehive or conical valve springs. These retainers are required if you run any of the valve springs that you see on our website.
- Steel: The standard LS stock replacement retainer.
- Modified Steel: These are machined to give more valve seal to retainer clearance. Required any time you are going above .520" lift.
