Flashark Downpipe Exhaust for 1999-2006 Audi S3 & TT 1.8T 3 Inch High Flow
The 1.8T engine in the Audi S3 (8L chassis, 1999–2003) and Audi TT (8N chassis, 1999–2006) shares one fundamental bottleneck: the factory downpipe is a narrow, catalyst-stuffed tube that chokes exhaust flow exactly at the point where the turbocharger is trying to spool. The K03 and K04 turbos used on these platforms are highly responsive to backpressure reduction — even small improvements downstream of the turbo make a measurable difference in spool speed and mid-range torque.
This Flashark 3" catless downpipe removes the factory catalytic converter entirely and replaces the full downpipe section with a mandrel-bent 3" T304 stainless steel pipe — more than double the effective cross-section of the heavily restricted factory unit. The result is a faster-spooling turbo, stronger mid-range pull, and a more aggressive exhaust note that the factory catalyst and muffling completely eliminated. On a stock or mildly tuned 1.8T (especially on a K04 or KKK K03S), this is one of the highest-impact individual modifications available.
This downpipe fits all 1.8T variants across both platforms — AGU (150hp), ARZ/AMK (180hp), and BAM (225hp) engine codes all share the same K03/KKK turbocharger exhaust outlet flange pattern, so one downpipe covers the full lineup. Important exception: Audi TT Quattro (AWD) models use a different drivetrain tunnel layout and exhaust routing — this downpipe fits FWD TT models only.
For competition and track use. Not for street registration.

Key Features
1. 3" (76mm) Full-Bore Mandrel-Bent Stainless. The entire downpipe runs at a consistent 3" internal diameter through every bend. Computerized mandrel bending maintains the full bore at every curve — no pinching, no internal ridges. Stainless steel resists the extreme heat cycling of turbo exhaust without warping, cracking, or rusting. Mirror-polished finish for a clean underbody appearance.
2. Catless Design — Maximum Flow for Track Use The factory catalytic converter in the OEM downpipe creates significant restriction and back-pressure. Removing it reduces exhaust backpressure directly at the turbine outlet, where it has the greatest impact on spool speed and turbo efficiency. On a K03 or K04 setup with an ECU tune (APR, GIAC, Revo), this downpipe is a foundational part of the intake/exhaust combination.
3. CNC-Machined Flanges — Both Ends The upper flange matches the K03/KKK turbocharger exhaust outlet used across all 1.8T AGU, ARZ, AMK, and BAM engine codes on the 8L/8N platform. Chrome-plated finish resists corrosion. CNC machining ensures true flat mating surfaces — no warping or leaks at the flange face. The lower flange connects to the factory mid-pipe.
4. TIG Welded Throughout All joints, bung ports, and flange welds are TIG welded for a leak-free seal under the thermal cycling and vibration loads of a boosted engine. No clamp joints in the main body.
