Flashark solved that. The 2.75" (70mm) mandrel-bent T-6061 aluminum tube was specifically sized for the 2.0 TDI's airflow requirements — not an off-the-shelf pipe with an adapter. Dual steel heat shields isolate the filter from the engine bay, so the turbo pulls cooler, denser air. And the dry filter needs no oil, which means zero risk of contaminating your $300 MAF sensor.
The result: faster turbo spool, sharper throttle response in the 1,800–3,000 RPM band where the TDI lives, and a deeper turbo whistle under load without drone at cruise. No CEL, no tune, no idle surging. Install is about 45 minutes with basic hand tools.
