The factory EA888 intake is a liability. The corrugated plastic accordion tube that sits between the airbox and your turbo inlet creates turbulence, restricts flow, and softens throttle response — all problems baked in at the factory to meet noise and cost targets that don't reflect your priorities.
This Flashark cold air intake replaces the entire factory plastic intake path with a mandrel-bent T6061 aluminum tube finished in black powder coat. The smoother bore eliminates accordion turbulence and flows significantly more air than stock, feeding your turbocharger a denser, cleaner air charge at every RPM.
The result: tighter turbo spool, up to 15 WHP gain, reduced low-end lag, and an intake note that actually reflects what the EA888 is capable of. Fits late 2009+ EA888-equipped VW and Audi models including the Golf GTI MK5/MK6, Jetta GLI, EOS, Passat CC, Scirocco, Audi A3, and compatible SEAT and Skoda models.

The factory corrugated plastic intake creates measurable airflow restriction and turbulence at the turbo inlet. The smooth-bore Flashark tube removes this bottleneck entirely, delivering a more consistent, higher-velocity air column to the compressor wheel with every acceleration event.
3. Up to 15 WHP Gain on the 1.8T and 2.0T TSI
Dyno-confirmed gains of up to 15 wheel horsepower on the EA888 2.0 TSI with this intake alone. Most of the gain is visible in the mid-range (2,500–5,000 RPM) where the factory accordion restriction is most limiting. Low-end torque improves as a byproduct of better turbo spool.
4. Faster Turbo Spool — Less Lag The optimized 2.5"–3" diameter tube and smooth bends reduce intake restriction, allowing the turbocharger compressor to pull air more efficiently. The result is noticeably faster boost buildup from partial-throttle inputs and a more responsive throttle character at city driving speeds.
5. Dry Filter — No Oil Required, No Mess The high-flow air filter is a dry media design — no oil to apply, no maintenance schedule to track, no risk of over-oiling contaminating the MAF sensor.
