As 7.3L trucks continue to age, oil pan leaks are becoming increasingly common—and one of the most frequent leak sources is the factory dipstick adapter in the side of the oil pan. Over the years, we’ve seen countless attempted repairs ranging from silicone and sealants to epoxy products like JB Weld. We’ve also seen dipstick adapter nuts overtightened to the point that the factory adapter becomes permanently distorted and impossible to seal, even with a new O-ring.

How It Works

This kit completely eliminates the factory dipstick adapter and replaces it with a precision-machined aluminum adapter that seals on the outside of the oil pan using a double O-ring design. The result is a reliable, serviceable seal that can be installed without removing the oil pan or engine—even with the engine still in the truck.

If the O-rings ever need replacement, the adapter can be removed and resealed entirely from outside the oil pan.

Important Notes

• May require clearance checks or minor modification when used with Hypermax connecting rods or aftermarket engine girdles

• No drilling or modification to the oil pan is required

• Factory dipstick adapter body remains safely in the oil pan sump after installation and poses no risk to the engine

T444E Customers

This repair adapter has been successfully used on multiple T444E applications with the same results as Ford Powerstroke engines. While we do not specialize in heavy-duty platforms, all known T444E applications should be compatible. If ordering for a T444E engine, use the “If you know your part number” option during checkout.

Do I need to remove the engine or oil pan?
