Desolate Motorsports Drop Pivot Brackets – 1980-1996 Ford Bronco / F-Series
Compatibility:
1980-1996 F150/Bronco - 4x4 & 2wd
1980-1997 F250/F350 2wd ONLY!
These drop pivot brackets are precision laser cut and formed from 3/16" steel, internally and externally gusseted for unmatched strength. They attach to the frame and crossmember using Grade 8 hardware for a secure and long-lasting install. However, they are not recommended for every build—read below to see if they’re right for your truck.
⚠️ Not Recommended for:
-
Long Travel Suspension Setups
-
Trucks that already align properly and drive well
-
General-purpose lifts where standard geometry is preserved
✅ When These Brackets Make Sense:
-
2" Lift Setups: Helps maintain proper alignment geometry without maxing out camber cams, which can add unnecessary stress on ball joints.
-
Custom Hybrid Lift Heights (e.g. 3"): Allows for in-between setups not supported by standard lift kits.
-
Upgrading a 4" Stage 2 Lift to a 6" Setup: Combine with a few other components to increase your lift height.
🛠 Fitment Notes:
-
For F-250/350 2WD platforms, slight modification may be required.
– Some holes in the crossmember may need to be opened up with a drill bit due to thicker frame and crossmember material. -
Designed with tight tolerances, optimized for 1/2-ton frames but adaptable with minor effort.
Why We Don’t Recommend These for Most Builds:
Drop bracket-style lifts have a history of drivability issues and even frame damage when used improperly. These brackets are designed for very specific situations where they make sense mechanically. If your Bronco or F-Series truck aligns well and rides great now, adding these will not improve anything and may cause more harm than good.
Built for the right build — not for every build. Only use these if your lift or alignment needs demand it. If you're unsure, feel free to reach out to us before purchasing.
