Can-Am only offered this upgrade on higher-end R\/RR models, so that makes this a bolt-on upgrade for your Maverick Sport 1000R.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe other primary upgrade is the weights. The weights on the original OEM 1000R clutches use all 6 weight slots, but are low-profile weights that do not contact the rollers when below 2400 rpm, while the engine is at idle. That causes them to bounce around at idle and make a metal-on-metal ticking sound. Our fix for this was to use the same amount of total weight as the original primary, but to do it with 4 thicker weights instead of 6 thin weights so hey make contact with the rollers fully at idle and prevent the annoying tapping sounds. For this reason, you will notice 2 of the 6 weight slots in the clutch are not used.
