Can Am Commander | Can Am Commander MAX TCP Triple Pass Commander Radiator
This radiator fits years 2011 - 2020. Our Maverick X3 radiator fits Commander years 2021 - 2023.
It is constructed with the triple pass design in order to maximize the cooling ability of the core. If you are not familiar with the term triple pass, it refers to the flow of the coolant as it is passing through the radiator. It starts at the top and flows across the top third of the radiator, then drops down and passes back across the middle third of the radiator, and finally drops to the bottom third and passes across and out.
We have found this design to add 25-30% more cooling ability. Coupled with the added thickness and wider core this radiator will cool 50-60% better than the original which will make a huge difference in keeping your rig cool. The stock radiator is a single pass design and is not as efficient.
We made this radiator 2 1/4" thick which is half again as thick as the original. We also made it 2" wider to fit the stock fan and shroud better. This adds to the cooling surface of the core, and increases the Can Am Commanders coolant capacity.
OEM ( 14 fins per inch ) vs. MUDDER (8 fins per inch )
We build our TCP Commander radiator in two versions. Our Mudder is designed for riding in MUDDY conditions or where there is tall grass and weed seed that can plug up the core. It has an 8 fins per inch fin count which is greatly reduced over the OEM radiator which is 14 fins per inch. This makes the Mudder core able to remain cleaner and clean out easier. The photograph to the left shows a comparison of the OEM core (left side) to our mudder core on the right side.
As you can see, there is a substantial difference in fin and tube spacing. This Mudder design eliminates the need to relocate your radiator, you can keep it in the stock location.
Our other version we call our High Efficiency version. It is designed for dry conditions such as sand and dry trails. The fin count on it is similar to the OEM radiator spacing of about 14 fins per square inch.
Our High Efficiency version excels over the OEM radiator in that it has our same triple pass design, added thickness and wider core, just like our Mudder version so it will also cool 50-60% better than the original which, again, makes a huge difference in keeping your rig running cool."Parts always in stock!
