The 1992-1995 Honda Civic (EG chassis) and 1993-1997 Del Sol are among the most modified platforms in existence, but the factory intake on these cars has not aged well. The stock airbox uses a ribbed plastic intake tube with internal turbulence ridges, a restrictive paper panel filter, and a snorkel that pulls warm air from behind the headlight. On a D15B7 or D16Z6 that's already working with modest displacement, every restriction matters.

The Flashark cold air intake replaces the entire factory assembly with a mandrel-bent, black powder-coated aluminum intake pipe, a high-flow red dry-cone filter, and a powder-coated steel heat shield. The aluminum pipe maintains a full 2.75" internal bore through every bend — no crush points, no ribbing, no turbulence. The dry media filter is washable and reusable, capturing 95%+ of particulates without the maintenance overhead of oiled cotton gauze. The heat shield isolates the filter from radiant engine-bay heat using factory bolt locations.

The∗∗ShortRam intake (58.00) keeps the filter in the engine bay on a shorter pipe for a 30-minute bolt-on install, louder in-cabin intake sound, and zero water ingestion concern — the better choice for a daily driver where simplicity and sound are the priority.

Bottom line: Long Ram for max power under all conditions; Short Ram for simpler install and louder sound without touching the bumper.
